For all its imperfections, 'Wild In The Country' is a very watchable reminder of a road not taken and of a promise Elvis was never allowed to fulfil.

Personally I have always reckoned that Elvis was at the top of his vocal powers in AD 1960. He had superb vocal control and exceptional range and he had improved vocally at least from the rawness (albeit a very very appealing rawness) of the 1950's. This is a tremendous collection of stunning ballads and the rocking 'I slipped I stumbled I fell'. The outtakes are interesting and I haven't got tired of listening to 27 versions of 5 songs. Interestingly 'Husky Dusky Day' also appears and though very short (50 seconds) it is quite an amusing little ditty sung in duet with the lovely Hope Lang. One of the best FTD releases by far!

FTD will release Elvis Now a 2 CD set in the classic albums series along with their fourth 12" vinyl release, Jailhouse Rock, a special limited vinyl edition with a bonus disc of out-takes on April 1st.

The two albums - On Stage ans Elvis In Person with multiple bonus tracks on each - have been coupled together for the first time. On Stage: Legacy Special Edition Deluxe 2 CD Set pays tribute to Elvis in one of the most outstanding performance periods in his career. The second disc is a special edition of the 1969 Elvis In Person album. The specially-designed double-CD package, encased in the distinctive Legacy Edition mylar slipcase, will be available starting March 23rd.

Interview with Celeste Yarnall who appeared briefly in Live A Little, Love a Little. Celeste plays Ellen, the girl at the party, with all the astrological reasons why she and Elvis just can't possibly be matched up. However, not one to be easily discouraged, Elvis woos her by showing her a box with blinking lights, and by singing A Little Less Conversation. Their brief romance is interrupted, however, by Michele Carey hooverin' up a storm in Elvis' apartment, effectively driving Celeste away!

The 'Memphis Recording Service' will release Off Duty With Private Presley on February 22, 2010 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s discharge from the army in 1960. This book / CD set is in the same format, only even better than, the Tupelo Welcomes Home Elvis Presley set. As part of this audio/visual release, the accompanying 100 page book has many rare and stunning photographs, many of which are unreleased and seen here for the first time.

Elvis: Encore Performance IV: Back in the Windy City Book will be released April 1st. This Special JAT Presentation will be a hard cover book will cover eight performances by Elvis in Chicago and features 200 photographs (colour and black & white), close to 150 being unpublished.
