They were all from around Tennessee, the Carolinas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Missouri.
On July 20, 1913 J.D. Pressley married Minnie Mae Hood.
Jessie served in the U.S. Army (Stateside) during World War I.
On April 10, 1916 in Fulton, Mississippi their first child was born, Vernon Presley (1916-1978), Elvis Presley’s father.
Elvis’ maternal heritage through to his mother, Gladys:
Elvis’ grandmother was Doll Mansell (1876-1935) who was married to Bob Smith (1873-1931).
Gladys Love Smith who was born on April 25, 1912.
It’s quite involved (like any family tree).
Elvis’s lineage can be traced quite a way back and it includes
his great-great grandparents; William Mansell and Morning Dove White.
Morning Dove was full blood Cherokee indian.
