Why don’t that many young people like Elvis Presley these days ?

I don’t know either. I like his music more from the 70′s which was similiar to all the popular music from the 70′s that people still listen to today. I really don’t know. I like the beatles too but Elvis is always number one in my book. =) I can see how his music from the 50′s would be too old fashioned for some and that’s what most people associate with him so maybe they don’t even know about his later music.

They probably do!,they just don’t know it quite yet…lol

Dear Me I am an Elvis fan & yes he definitely was better then the Beatles. I really don’t know why they don’t care for Elvis all I can say is they don’t know what they are missing but his true fans will always remember him & be glad they do. Slainte (cheers & health) to you

I guess it’s because they think that his music is old fashion and that they hear things about him that just keep them from listening to him. I’m fourteen and disagree, but a lot of teenagers my age what to listen to the new thing. When the the new thing isn’t new anymore they move on to the next thing. They probably like the Beatles because they where a boy band and all the members of that band where hot back in the day( I feel weird saying that) and well the thing is some teenagers love boy bands especially females.
It also depends on the person.

HI Me, I guess the reason many young people per tend they don’t like ELVIS is they feel their so call friends will laugh and make fun of them. I know a lot of girls that will secretly listen to ELVIS and look at magazines/books about him in private or with a close real friend. Most young people think it is not “cool” to listen to anything except the stuff they call music (rap yap zap) and that is so sad because they are missing out on a man whose music kept up with the times. I love to listen to Elvis sing all hia songs especially his gospel songs. My favorite ELVIS songs are “Don;t cry daddy”, “Burning love”, “In the ghetto”, “Jail house rock”,………….wait a minute…. maybe I should just list the ones I don;t like……Looks like I love them all. Elvis Presley the King !

You are Not weird, there are several young people your age who are discovering Elvis and the Beatles music. They now think that they have to keep up with what is popular in today’s music, or their friends and peers may think they are strange. There are also a lot of young people liking Country music more than Popular music. In my opinion Elvis Presley was the King, is the King, and will Always be the King of Rock & Roll.

The loud volume with which their “music” is played today has destroyed their ability to recognize good music. Rap has destroyed good lyrics. You ask, “Is his music too old fashioned?”. Good music is never out dated. Some ears are just too immature to appreciate it.
